What is PHENSA?

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Nursing Schools Association (PHENSA) was established in 1977 as a consortium of nursing education leaders in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Why was PHENSA established?

PHENSA was founded as a forum through which baccalaureate and higher degree educators could meet to coordinate, plan and implement efforts to promote and advance the goals of baccalaureate and advanced degree programs in Pennsylvania.

What is the purpose of PHENSA?

1.    To identify issues, share ideas and experiences which promote innovation and improvement of baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs.

2.    To assist leaders of baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs to assume proactive positions in relation to forces which impact nursing education in Pennsylvania.

3.    Developing more effective communication with the general public, legislators and other interested communities, regarding the goals of baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs and the need for and utilization of graduates of these programs.
